This is what happens when a wheel detaches from a moving truck and then you try to save it.
seen this fiasco twice
seen this fiasco twice
one bounced through the front of a Winnebago
the other caused a 66 chrysler newport to hit a toll booth
What the hell is that link for?
To put money in your pocket?
Never saw a rogue tire on its own. But I have had the pleasure of:
1. An errant golf ball on a long drive hitting the road right in front of my car and bouncing over the car stem to stern.
2. A sheet of plywood blowing off a truck in front of me and sailing over my car (I was certain I was going to be decapitated).
3. A Prius in front of me was carrying two bicycles on a bike carrier and pulled to the left to pass the camper in front of us. The instant he got out of the camper slipstream into the clear air, BOTH bikes came off and hit the pavement right next to my driver’s door. It took them about a quarter mile before they realized something was missing.
Escaped all three times without anything happening.
Wow.
It’s still largely a free country.
You are entitled to your lame thoughts and opinion...
And easy stop! The problem is that the people trying to stop it no nothing about gyroscopic procession. As a former army helicopter pilot I know all about it! Basically they would have to push against the tire 90° prior in the direction of rotation of where they want the tire to go. You do that in the tire would go in the proper direction they wanted. So another words if they wanted to go left they should’ve basically pushed against the top of the tire. Remember when we were kids and we would spend a bicycle tire when the bicycle was upside down and you turn the handlebars and it would seem like it was fighting you. That was gyroscopic precession
