Quackenbush exited the vehicle and shot Melton twice before running up the street with another woman.
She is in a Porsche SUV, but instead of driving off, she and the other woman run away???
Seriously, something weird happened here; she was doing drugs and did not want her parents to find out, or was doing something with the girl and still did not want anyone to find out.

Actually reading the story, it sounds like she was completely unreasonable. Unless the vagrant is all lying.

Yeah, I thought that was strange - parked in a car, then runs away on foot leaving the car? Maybe just “couldn’t get back to car”? Of course, by then she shot him supposedly.

The quote from Dad puts her in jail.
You don’t fire warning shots if you fear for your life.
Also, if she retreated to her vehicle and then came back out that is an issue true.
Unless, the vehicle was inoperable... she’s in deep.

Another story had it she drove away in her SUV; she exited her “safe” SUV to shoot the homeless guy, then climbs back into it and drives away. Her dad lawyer says it was self defense because she either felt threatened when he asked her to turn off her engine because of the fumes and stop the loud music since he was trying to sleep. The part that doesn’t make sense is: She exists her “safe” SUV and shoots the guy, gets back in and drives away not bothering to call 911 at least. Dad lawyer says self defense - typical lawyer.

She could have been spooked by the homeless confronting you. It could be self defense if she has good lawyer and there was no drugs/alcohol involved.

It’s starting to look like that may be the defense of the trigger-happy Somali cop—that a loud noise spooked him causing him to shoot the woman approaching his car to complain of a possible assault.
It seems incredible to me.
As a concealed carry license holder myself, I have to say that this looks like a `slopery slip’ .... Any of us packing can now be spooked by, say, a car backfiring and just start blasting away at anything moving?
Of course not. But as you say, a defense turns on its facts. Hobos, clowns and Hillary Clinton can be scary.
