It was a lot like Galaxy Quest, only without the wit or affection for the original source material. I felt like I was watching a Star Trek fan fic video slapped together after hours by a bunch of kids in a university film school lab.

Now that just bites. I accuse SyFy of lousy content and when I find one (or two) that I like they go and cancel it.

“That mole between her eyes has to go.”

YES. The show wasn’t bad and I will watch it again, but that mole is very distracting.

It had the dual curse of being expensive and being a show they bought from outside, meaning they didn’t make the secondary cash. Expanse has at least one more, though I’m not sure how the ratings are horrible, could be an ego show, the critics worship it.

If the shows put sharks in space then SyFy might just keep it. But then I won’t like it. Shark Trek. Dark Shark Matter. The Shark Expanse. I guess I’ll get back to my original description of SyFy as being a waste of broadcast energy.

It was disappointing but I thought it was hilarious when the evil alien on the screen got involved in their argument about marriage and gave good advice.

He plays a beta simp cuckold who forgives his cheating ex-wife.

TV just cannot portray a white guy as strong and positive anymore.

Fuche to the them. (The e is silent btw.)

For now, it’s a new show that isn’t reruns - watched and wasn’t impressed but lack of other real choices for now will probably induce me to watch one or two more episodes to see if they develop it in a positive direction.

Seth McFarlane made his name by ripping off The Simpsons and South Park and by counting on a large contingency of geeks fawning over his rotoscopish humor (see his Star Wars episodes).
