Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge hit his 40th home run of the year Sunday in the fourth inning of the Rangers' Nick Martinez, joining Mark McGwire (1987) as the second player in the history of Major League Baseball to record 40-plus homers as a rookie.
In the Yanks' 16-7 victory at Globe Life Park, Judge also became just the fourth Yankee to hit 40 homers in a season in his age-25 season or younger, joining Halll of Famers Mickey Mantle (1956), Joe DiMaggio (1937), Lou Gehrig (1927) and Babe Ruth (1920).
I guess you don’t get it! This is a place for serious discussions and real news. I’ll bet you that not many here give a rat’s a$$ about Aaron Judge!
Baseball is serious news. Especially HR records.
Too bad he plays for the Ewww Yuck yankees
TBP is a plank owner here. I’m betting he “gets FR” a little better than you do.
Thanks for the heads up TBP. Too bad it had to be the Yankees.
True.
Like Ruth, DeMaggio, Maris, Mantle . . .
He he he, Jealous ay? :) The best most winningest team in sports history!
So Judge joins Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, and Mantle as the only Yankees under the age of 25 to hit 40 HRs in a season. Whether you like the Yankees or not, that is some elite company.

The writer can’t add,I guess.

Sometimes I know it will be a home run just by the crack of the bat. There's a certain "thwuck" sound when the ball is hit just right.
If you think FR is just for “serious discussions and real news” you need to spend more time familiarizing yourself with FR.
Hey, you were hating on a baseball thread a couple days ago.
How did baseball hurt you so badly??
And did you know Michael A. Taylor hit a grand slam inside the park home run? He did.
As the saying goes, "Nobody goes to the ballpark to see a pitching duel".
“Hey, you were hating on a baseball thread a couple days ago.”
I don’t hate baseball, although among the “team sports,” it’s probably my least favorite. I simply think that a large segment of our mostly adult male population gives inordinate attention to all “professional sports.” Seemingly, they want to live vicarious lives in front of their “big screens,” drinking the “correct beer,” eating only the “correct foods,” all the time blowing farts and addling their brains with sports trivia. There isn’t any perspective in their lives as to what’s really important, and they damage their kids with their penchant for “sports.” I had a professional engineer who worked for me back when OJ Simpson was on trial for killing his wife and Ron Goldman, and he “knew” OJ didn’t do it simply because “he was a sports figure.” We have a country that’s in dire straits right now, and yet we have people who can’t vote intelligently, but they can give you a long list of worthless, overpaid, mostly black “professional athletes” and what their “accomplishments” on the field of play are. To me, it’s just nuts.
I like home runs too, but I think the game has gotten too reliant on them. Nobody knows how to bunt anymore, or do a hit and run, or any of a number of other “little” skills that can really enhance an offense.
Yes, that was quite a play. Very exciting, and gutsy. This is the way I like to see the game played.
You mean teh 27-time World Champion New York Yankees?
BTW, did you know that the Yankees have lost more World Series than any other team has won?
While you are correct there are more serious matters it also refreshing to talk about things other than politics. This was posted in the sports thread and you didn't have to click on it.
