I get tired of these local “Watch For Motorcyclists” signs. They should watch for us as they pass on double yellow lines, do 65 in a 50. The other day one passed a car in the car’s lane on a single road, Hwy101 in the PNW. I’ve seen them do stupid things and then they get upset???

Actually, far too many auto drivers claim that they never saw the motorcyclist they hit.

In my case, I was stopped at a corner (I had a stop sign,) and this idiot woman turned left far too sharply into my lane, and I was able to jump off my bike when she plowed right into it at about 25 miles an hour. I wore a bright red helmet with reflective tape, and a neon yellow safety vest over my jacket. Did I mention is the the middle of the afternoon, and there was no other traffic? She claimed she never saw me. She also claimed I had run into her, but the fact that the motorcycle was more than 15 feet into a front yard and her bumper, grille, and radiator were damaged belied her claim.

Another time, I was in a left turn lane at a red light waiting for it to turn green. This idiot pulls into the SAME LANE, less than 2" from my leg. I knocked on the window and his passenger freaked out. Again, he claimed he never saw me.

They should make themselves better seen. Head on they have nice bright lights and I’ve seen some that have red flashing lights like bicyclists do (and don’t get me started on them), so back to front that should help.
