Gov. Cuomo and his Crooked Albany legislature announced
today they will ram thru the SHAFE Act - [Safe Hammers Are For Everyone] at midnight tonight when most carpenters are asleep.
Provisions of the SHAFE Act include:

1. pass a hammering test with 7 different sizes of nails
2. pass an eye exam
3. obtain board certification from your local N.Y. State
building inspector
4. submit all hammers in your possession for microstamping
and inspection every 5 months
5. all claw hammers are prohibited as defined as assault
weapons which can hammer more than ten 3 inch nails in
a minute
6. Sledge hammers require a special permit with an annual
license fee of $5,000
7. Only persons over the age of 21 may purchase nails.

[ Pickaxes and nail guns are not covered this legislation as no one has killed 3 people yet with a pickaxe or nail gun in Hempstead.]
