I check weather underground daily. Their short term predictions are very good.

Used to use the weather channel website but it got screwed up. Kept saying I needed to update my iOS to access their site.

Farmer’s Almanac predictions are akin to using a Ouija board, IMO. Legend has it that they predicted snow in July in some place and it actually happened.

If that Global Warming don’t get here pretty soon, I am going to start having second thoughts about the whole darn shootin’ match.

The publication ... isn’t afraid to go out on a limb with long-term weather forecasts

And how often are they right? You might as well consult a Magic 8-Ball.

Well, I do enjoy my skates on the Rideau Canal wearing items from my vintage hockey sweater collection or snowshoes up in Gatineau Park.

Historically the Farmers Almanac is accurate about 80% of the time. Not a bad record.

I’ll wait for Joe Bastardi and Weatherbell.com to put out their forecast for this winter.

Here’s my prediction.

You read it here first.

We have had a relatively cold, rainy summer.

Our annual precipitation is fairly constant here in the North East. This means if we get an annual rainfall of 65 inches and 80% of that happens May through August...Winter is going to be dry.

When we have dry, hot summers, we get wet, snowy winters. Funny how that works.

Fortunately there's an abundance of low cost natural gas in the US that can keep us all warm this winter, drill baby drill!
