Flake says he has no plans to leave the Republican Party and become a Democrat or an independent, despite his disagreements with the president. Im a proud Republican always have been always will be, Flake said. Why would I do that? Im for economic freedom and individual responsibility. The Republican party is more closely aligned to those principles. And so thats what this book is an affirmation of those principles and a call to return to civility and decency and decorum.
Thanks for that post. I can’t imagine Flake winning his Republican primary next year unless he can pull off a “McCain” (I.e., to arrange to have multiple primary challengers to split the “defeat Flake” vote as well as to encourage many ‘RAT voters to cross over). Hopefully, conservatives in Arizona will rally around a challenger to Flake BEFORE the primary. But egos abound in politics!
