I have to say I totally agree with you. For once I thought we were playing offense and here we sit on constant defense.
I don't really agree that we are on defense. President Trump came into D.C. almost alone, with an active conspiracy to impeach him before he was inaugurated. So far he has a long list of accomplishments, and better yet, the track record helps him pick up steam. People voted for him thinking he was better than Hillary, but not with solid evidence that he could boost the economy the way that he has, or that he would work hard to keep his promises.
After only six months, there are a lot of people who have jobs now that didn't in January. There are a lot of companies that have chosen to locate here or to expand because of him. In other words, they have an investment with him now, one nobody had before the election. All these people now are on his side, and it makes everything easier. By 2018, anyone opposing Trump's agenda will be met with a wall of people who have benefited from him.
Well, I think we can blame that on the spineless GOPe who don’t have a collective backbone amongst them. They constantly push victory into the jaws of defeat at every opportunity.
