“why is this death wish 2... did i miss the first one.”

The first one starred Charles Bronson and was made in 1974(?) As stated above there were really 5 of them made so this should be Death Wish 6.

[Wonder if that dude had a cow about the original?]

In the original, Bronson was a draft dodging liberal.
I wonder if Willis would be portrayed as the same.

Although there was nothing overtly Christian in the original movies, hero Frank Kersey prominently wore a cross. He operated under God’s law and ignored man’s law. This is what gave him the authority to be judge, jury and executioner. It will be interesting to see if they kept the God’s law angle.

If somebody in, say, Chicago, starts killing people like the movie’s hero it will probably be the end of the series. We never saw Kersey kill the wrong guy by mistake or hit some innocent kid with a poorly aimed shot. Fiction does not translate well to real life.

Kersey was a conscientious objector combat medic.

They’ll destroy it. That’s what Hollywood does, destroy old movies and TV shows I used to enjoy.

Not to mention they absolutely HATE the pro-gun message of the original. Look for them to scrooooo with that as well.

“...all three of his Die Hard...”

Actually there have been 5 Die Hard movies. The first 3 of them were good, the most recent 2 were absolutely awful. I’m glad Willis has moved on to other things.

Bruce has made some real stinkers in the past. I hope this is one of his good movies, but if the left cries loud enough about it, I will probably go see it in the theater, good or bad.

I predicted the remake of this movie several years ago to my two sons, even before we saw Chicago start heading down the Democrat Rahm Emanuel spiral.

As soon as I saw Obama judges and other liberal judges start releasing criminals, I knew the crime rate would increase like back in the 1970s and there would be a cathartic backlash in movies. It came back as superhero flicks, but really there’s nothing like a Bronson film to do the trick.

I found it interesting that I had never seen any of the original Death Wish movies (though that was in my movie-going days) but in the last two nights I watched Death Wish and Death Wish 2 for the first time...just out of the blue.

Then I saw on FR that a remake was being done!

I guess Bruce Willis would do okay...:)

No...I just watched it for the first time on Tuesday night...Bronson’s character served in a medical unit as a “CO”. When asked if he were the commanding officer of the medical unit, he said he was a conscientious objector.

He said he grew up with guns, was a crack shot, hunted, had lots of guns, and his father was shot and killed hunting (mistaken for a deer) so his mother banned guns from the house.

I love action movies. I miss them. Stallone, Willis, Schwartzeneggar, etc. I’m just not that into cartoons which is all they make now.

If you haven’t seen it, I’d recommend “Mercury Rising” with Bruce Willis. Pretty good story.
