Were you aware that MLB had a "gay day"?
MLB doesn't. But, many teams do, with more every year.
The Cardinals haven't, yet. But, this year was the 27th(!) annual "Christian Family Day." After that game, players and fans can stay at the ballpark for special events including a featured speaker (typically a current or former player).
I always said when (not "if"; we know it has to happen) they ever decide to have a "Pride Day", they really ought to announce the date BEFORE any tickets go on sale. I'm thinking of the poor schlub who scrimps and saves to take his family to ONE game each season and, sometime after he buys his tickets, the team comes out and picks THAT game for "Pride Day." What a deal that'd be, huh?
Well, guess what. On June 23, the Cardinals did just that. They announced their first Pride Night will be Friday, August 25. The good news is, that caused a firestorm on social media.
I just hope StubHub is overrun with a glut of available tickets. And I pity the poor schlubs who got blindsided by this travesty.
