OK, Mississippi. We give. You win. It's not often we in Alabama defer to anyone on anything when it comes to college football, but we have to hand it to you.
At the moment and subject to change, you now own the best rivalry in the SEC. And by best, we mean the dirtiest, nastiest, most intense blood feud in the dirtiest, nastiest, bloodiest, most intense conference in all the world.

Scarbinsky is such a moron. There is no way the Egg Bowl is more intense than the Iron Bowl.
Florida Georgia wasn’t even mentioned. I lived in Jacksonville for a while, and it was an amazing event.
I am a college football fan. I don’t believe I ever watched one minute of the Egg Bowl. The Iron Bowl is a different story. :)
This saga parallels the dems email saga. The Old Piss supporters are mad because it was a State fan that pointed out the shenanigans of Hugh Freeze - and like the dem email saga, they didn't scream about the illegal deeds perpetrated by Freeze and his staff, only that a State guy brought it to light.
It’s a little known fact that scientists at Miss State and Ole Miss working together in cooperation invented the Toothbrush.
I believe South Carolina/Clemson is maybe the worst I have seen.
I know the entire state of Ohio goes on lockdown for their games against Michigan.
When I was trucking I used to love driving across Ohio on game day.
No weigh stations would be open, no cops anywhere and very few cars on the road. 75 mph all the way across the state.
Only one thing to say,
Hail State- Go Dawgs!
Iron Bowl
Egg Bowl
Nuff said.
The East Carolina/NC State rivalry was so bad, they had to stop playing each other. Same with West Virginia and Virginia Tech although VT did that for safety reasons.
App State lost their rivalry with Western Carolina when WCU became horrible at football.
No way.
I find the Georgia-Florida rivalry is a lot less heated than when I was at UF, because up to that point, Florida had had little success in football, so beating Georgia was our focus. Now they pretty much are just another team on our schedule.
Actually Troy/Jacksonville State was a huge rivalry until Troy moved up to 1A.
App State losing our rivalry was tough. The new one is with Georgia Southern. It’s hard to get worked up for a rival that is two states away.
Winning 3 straight national titles made up for the loss of a rival.
You would think Florida/Florida State would be bigger.
No, because we have a common enemy, Miami. In Alabama, there is only Auburn and Alabama.
Troy lost to App State two years ago in a barn burner.
Last year Troy beat App State on a 60 yard pass with seconds left. The pass was not a touchdown but the running back ran it in the next play.
Unfortunately they do not play this year.
