I'm posting this because the driver's name is Turkish (a country overwhelmingly Muslim) and he seems to have intentionally veered left to cross the median in a maneuver that very likely was done intentionally (as the Penn. State Police trooper suggests in the article).
Although the article starts by discussing the driver's reckless and speeding history, it becomes apparent that this crash was likely INTENTIONAL, directed against random victim(s).... an attack? A strange one, to be sure. But not the way people normally commit suicide, I don't think.
Could it be Sudden Jihad Syndrome? We don't know. But at the moment this incident is flying mostly below radar, yet it is difficult to explain the maneuvers of the fatal car (see map diagram, see photo). Driver had to veer suddenly left and then straighten out into oncoming traffic, and the police have said the maneuver may well have been intentional.
It happens that only the offending driver was killed, so far the main victim seems to be surviving. Still, this is a highly suspicious incident that bears follow-up.
The paper has disabled comments for this article and for another article on the crash. They don't want the public to be able to discuss what happened here????
Sadly, this is sometimes the method of suicide chose by people.
Thanks for posting this.
The police seem to think that this was intentional, and supposedly have more info to back that up, so that is likely the case. However, my first thought is that he was behind cars going 50 mph, and he wanted to go 80 mph, and felt that neither speeding nor directional laws applied to him.
