Exactly, I grew up in western NY. I left in 1981. Eighty % of the kids in my neighborhood moved somewhere else. Almost all moved out of NY state. All of my siblings and I moved out of NY(NC, TX, PA and NH respectively).
There are bars in Charlotte, NC that cater to Buffalo Bills fans as opposed to the Panthers because of the amount of WNY transplants.
I recently visited with my son to WNY over the 4th. I showed him the former location where Bethlehem Steel used to occupy 2 miles along Lake Erie in Lackawanna, NY. The unions killed that business in the 1970’s.
