Mayweather-McGregor betting 'potentially bigger than the Super Bowl'

The Super Bowl is annually the biggest betting event of the year in the U.S. This year, though, it may be eclipsed by a boxing match.

Kevin Bradley, the sports book manager of Bovada.lv, said betting on Mayweather-McGregor has been massive already.

“We knew this fight would be big, potentially even bigger than the Super Bowl, but now we are almost certain it will be,” Bradley said. “The recent trash talking and promotional tour is only encouraging bets and at this rate we cannot even imagine how much we will take on it. One thing is for sure though, we will need Mayweather huge. A McGregor early round KO as he promised would be a potential disaster and is partly a reason we are giving a great price on Mayweather at the moment.”

I would take a flyer on the +1,100 (bet $100 to win $1,100) on McGregor throwing a kick. Mayweather is going to toy with McGregor and the Irish man will go crazy.

I don’t have much money but it would be worth it for me to pay a hundred bucks if they could both get knocked out simultaneously.

If they didn’t have f-bombs, I don’t think either of them could complete a sentence.

What the *** cares? They’re not school teachers. I’m looking forward to the fight and there’s no way that Mayweather is going to lose. I don’t think the other guy will last two rounds. Boxing is a very unique Sport. And the you judge everything you do in life by whether or not the people you are with curse?

Who are these guys again?

Boxing for me, is like tennis, I used to follow it back in the 70s, but I haven’t given them second thought in years.

I wonder if Mayweather is more interested in money or his perfect record? If it’s money he should go down in the 7th or 8th thus setting up the biggest sporting event in history with the rematch.

Supposedly Mayweather can't pay his back taxes. I don't know if that is true but if it is true then I'm guessing that is the reason he took the fight.

Mayweather probably thought he could get a big payday against an easy opponent. He may be right.

Joe Rogan said that this is going to be the biggest money fight ever because there are two worlds coming together, MMA and Boxing. Plus McGregor is doing a good job of selling tickets with his trash talking. We'll see.

I would like to watch the fight but I'm not going to pay to watch it. It will be on YouTube sooner or later.

They’re competing in mayweather’s sport, using the rules that mayweather is more comfortable with, in a boxing ring rather than an octagonal cage, using bigger gloves that mayweather’s used his whole career.

Of course mayweather is going to jab and run, be elusive like when he fought Pacquiao. It won’t be a fight so much as a foot race with momentary breaks for a punch or two and then a long hug.

If you want to watch the “event”, go to a local sports bar. I’d highly recommend against spending big money and ordering the PPV for what’s likely to be a clown show.

...and no doctor is allowed into the ring after they both get knocked out!

The whole thing is a farce so let me have some fun with it.

I think he gets a huge penalty, even forfeits his purse, if he does that.

He doesn't really need the money. It's his perfect record. Otherwise he would have fought Manny Pacquiao 5 years before he did.

All this action on a fixed bout? People are stupid. I admit I was shocked when Herself lost but I will be far more shocked if the boxer loses. Sorry but I have forgotten the names of the participants.
