The Chinese government continues to promote widely, and every Chinese has thus been taught, the “national humiliation” China suffered at the hands of foreigners (worst of all the japanese) before “liberation.” Pre-1949, The British, Americans, Japanese and even German Navies would operate well upstream in the Yangtze River.

There will be a steady push from China to simply push their backyard (they will call it their territory) farther and farther into the Pacific.
