The programming team forgot to program for bodies of water and what to do around them.
Predictions that “robots will take over the world” are stupid, because humans haven’t proved yet that they know how to program the computers that they have: airline systems crashing, banks installing updates that make the system crash, Microsoft updates that crash the computer, the ridiculous lack of security built into the Internet, avionic software failing and crashing the plane, the microprocessor in my car failing, and many others.
The robot didn’t commit suicide.
What did it know about Hillary?
Looks like it accidentally got over the edge and fell down the stairs and into the fountain. Without arms or legs, it was goodnight, Irene. Dirty Harry Callahan’s cautionary motto comes to mind. “A man’s (Robot’s) got to know his limitations.” IMHO, the fault is the programmer’s, or the building maintenance managers. The robot should have been programmed to avoid stairs; or a barrier should have been installed to keep the robot out of trouble.
The current Dial Xs* can fly.
In the seventies there was a commercial for a knife sharpener called the Dial X. Was so awesome when that commercial would air during Doctor Who. We would always ask if the knife sharpener had an exterminate setting.
Maybe he was texting and didnt see where he was going.
yep , exactly what I thought when I saw the picture ,LOL
Actually my job is constant logic changes to automated industrial machines. Someone has to download and make on line changes to changes in tasks and create get arounds for unanticipated tasks or minor component failures.
"Have you been... swimming?"
PINING FOR THE FJORDS?????
HAL 9000: I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I’ve still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.
It must've Had Dirt on the clintons.
I rest my case. Bwaaaaa-haaaa-haaa-haa-ha!
I did my Master’s degree at University of Detroit Mercy with Bill Li, the Knightscope CEO. We also went to Oxford University together.
He did the “set up” for me to propose to my wife while we were there.
He is one of the smartest, most driven, guys you would ever meet. If you think the concept of robotic security is a money maker, he is the one guy that could make it happen.
not to worry. stick an IR light in the middle of the fountain stairs and add an IR sensor to the bot. Like the little doorway blocker device a Rumba has; should solve the problem
Um. That's not a cyborg.
he was pushed!
