The AirBNB hostess said some stupid things but GOOD LORD, there are people there crying for her to be FIRED from her job as a teacher.

This world is spiraling out of control.

The thought police are having a field day with this.

This is where I lose ALL sympathy for the "guest", Dyne Suh.

Right after receiving these text messages, Dyne and her friends pulled over to a nearby motel to put on tire chains. While there, they found some crew members of KTLA news. Dyne then talked to KTLA to tell her side of the story.

After spending years living in Asia; it is an Asian tactic to try and renegotiate a deal at the last minute. Indians and Koreans are the two most likely to do that. My wife perfected the tactic while we lived for five years in India. She still will negotiate in some shops here.

“Yes, Barker agreed given an extra $50/night, which supposedly the guests agreed to. Then, minutes away, the guests said they never agreed to the extra $50. That seems to be the crux of the disagreement.”

I didn’t see that in the story. If that’s the case it has nothing to do with her being asian. If she had been white she would have insulted her in some other way.

Sending her to re-education camp is a travesty of free speech.

Doesn’t the property description say whether children are welcome or not?

It is the scorched earth practices of religious fundamentalists, yes, social justice is a cult that invests religious fervor into the political belief system.
You dare dissent? You violated the sacred principles? You shall be excommunicated from the church/Democrat party, lose any position of social trust/responsibility/status, and ideally be sent to starve as punishment for your sins.
Communist William Shetterley decries this as the weaponization of poverty, hypocritical for liberals who say they support the poor to do so easily. Should someone lose their job as an engineer or teacher for a tasteless joke or private conversation, often rendered unemployable elsewhere?

you’re right- this should have been a civil suit and handled without a government “fine’ for improper thought crimes.

Houston narrowly avoided this sort of selected-not-elected governing board. The so-called "HERO" ordinance that would've prohibiting banning men in women's locker rooms and showers also established a kangaroo court for PC complaints in 33 pages of fine print. Doesn't take that much paper to say "men can go in the ladies' bathroom".

I hear that NYC had such a panel as well.

It’s been illegal to discriminate in accommodations since 1964. Anyone posting to AirBNB ought to damned well know that.

The part of this story that bothers me is the “re-education camp” that California Democrats are going to force him to attend.

Agree, the judge went overboard with that. All the malarkey about “sensitivity training” is for the benefit of those doling out the punishment, not the recipient. Waste of time, IMO.
