I bet these dudes will outrun a bear given the right conditions...

For short distances, the fastest of men can hit between 22 and 25mph. Twenty yards is less than 2 seconds and the bear would have to hit 45 or so to meet him at the door with a 18-20 yard extra distance - if it even gave immediate chase.
