The scene in which Kurt has meat tied to his leg and is chased by Xian Chow's dog was inspired by a real-life event in which a young Jean-Claude Van Damme was ordered by his karate teacher to wear a protective suit and withstand the attempts of a trained dog to pull him to the ground.

I understand. They pay some people hundreds of thousands just to run their mouths for 50 minutes. I was referring to real skills, such as a big league pitcher up against professional high skill hitters and he throws a shut out. As opposed to someone running fast for 50 yards or 30 miles.

The training regimens are awesome. If you are interested, look it up. I followed our US Olympic runners in preparation for the Olympics and was amazed at what they get to do, as professional runners.
In Kenya, if you win international races, they give land and crops to start a life with.
For short distances, the fastest of men can hit between 22 and 25mph. Twenty yards is less than 2 seconds and the bear would have to hit 45 or so to meet him at the door with a 18-20 yard extra distance - if it even gave immediate chase.
The bears were not hungry otherwise the runner would have been brought down.
Perhaps the bears have a sense of humour.

Thanks for the link to the video. Informative and funny.
Running from a black bear is a bad plan.
Well (and paraphrasing Yogi) you also need to be stronger than the average bear.
Just think of the shame these bears will now be subject to.
Other bears will now go online and ridicule the slowness of this pair.
“Couldn’t even catch a scrawny human that was 20 yards away.
You are a disgrace to our species”
