They adopt the personality and spirit of the owner, or they do everything they can to get away from them.
We have a neighbor that is a lunatic and was in the hospital for about three weeks and my wife volunteered to feed her fat dog.
One of those overgrown Chijuajua types that is SO fed and fat, it doesn't do things right ... like walk and get up stars.
Liza fed the dog as we feed ours, a regular diet morning and late afternoon with "releases" from the prison of its home.
The dog lost weight, fell in love with my wife and to this day, when out being walked by the lunatic on a leash, strains to come over to my wife if she is outside.
By the way, the dog is fat again and IOO, very sad the lunatic came back.

my guess is the dog was virtually ignored by her after she got the dog. then after two years she got the puppies and the dog got jealous of the attention the puppies were getting snapped at them a couple of times so she got rid of the puppies rather then giving her old dog time to adapt to the puppies..... this is normal adult dog behavior and it is sad that she did not care enough about the animal to let it adapt to the pups... I myself had a dog that was aggressive and had to be returned to the shelter. it was sad but things like aggression are problems from day one not two years later. I ended up returning the dog to the shelter when it attacked my roommate after living with us two months. the dog bit him and took a chunk of flesh. I am not buying her story.

I hate it when celebrities use children and animals as props. Thank God Dunham doesn’t have any children. Of course, she would probably abort him or her if she did. She was lamenting the fact recently that she had not yet experienced having an abortion.

The bigger picture is that nobody reads short stories anymore, so story writers sell themselves as "memoirists" or "essayists" telling real stories from their own lives.
Their lives aren't very interesting, so what they're writing is largely made up, and sooner or later it catches up with them.
Some people tell lies as a way of life. They lie even when the truth would cause them less trouble. Lena Dumbham is one of those.
If you just watch Caesar Milan, you learn how to handle aggressive dogs, or if you are rich you can hire him to teach you how you failed your Fur Baby, so they became terrors.
I’ve used his techniques to teach my excitable Morkie how to behave. I have more trouble teaching my grandson to ignore her until she minds and submits. She is 3, he is 16, she minds better.
