The government is preparing to solicit bids to provide a wall. I dont know if they will ask for proposals from the bidders or issue specifications to the bidders.
I suggest they request proposals with the objective to propose efficient methods to keep people from crossing a border.
My idea is to submit an unsolicited proposal that will keep people away from the border by storing the nations nuclear waste along the border.
Do you have any special expertise?
Otherwise, this sounds like a classic grant-writing proposal.
Won’t stop the illegals from crossing but they might be easier to spot. Especially after dark.
It’s an interesting idea. But the border would have to be geologically secure.
Of course they could just put up signs in Spanish/English that say “Nuclear waste stored ahead”. Scatter enough nuclear material to set of Geiger counters in case someone wants to test it.
Or they could put up signs like they have on the highway. “# dead crossing border” “YTD 1800, 2016 1400.”
Short answer, No.
All requirements for storing Nuclear material will make the “wall” too expensive. It may solve the issue you name but there are less expensive ways.
Currently nuclear materials must be double fenced and entry allowed only with proper credentials. This would stop immigrants but would require continuous manning.
the idea of using gators and a moat is easier, but you will still get sued for anyone who gets eaten.
Suggest you stick to wall design.
Just have the CIA start rumors that El Chupacabra lives there, get it into National Enquirer as well as various Spanish language publications, maybe even some decent CGI movies and photos.
They won’t go anywhere near it.
You have a glowing idea but I suspect the nuclear waste
needs to be better protected.
I’m in for a dollar.
Bidding on a government contract you need to be a listed GSA not easy to do.
Nope.
No nuclear waste. NIMBY.
Nuclear waste could be used to make a dirty bomb. Are you sure you want to place it where some might access it?
LOL!
The risk someone will steal it and weaponize it is too great. And driving through at high speed makes radiation a moot deterrent.
What galls me is that US defense contractor Raytheon was paid to build over a thousand miles of border fence ... for Saudi Arabia. 700+ miles all the way around Yemen with razor wire, ditches and rises that prevent someone driving through. And then a similar length fence on the Saudi border with Iraq. All to keep out refugees and terrorists.
But they are not offering to perform the same service for the U.S. border.
Even more damning is the fact they built the prototype “open” fence, the smart fence, under Bush. But no, the current leaders hate Trump so they aren’t offering to protect the US the way they did foreign nations.
All the rad waste would have to have high security too, it’ll attract muzzies.
Here’s one though. Trump said the wall could be solar paneled. Fund the wall by offering the surface area by the square foot and the buyer gets the electric generation revenue.
I take it you don’t live anywhere near the southern border.......
