Some great songs from a time when Black groups would harmonzie and sing melodies.

On the other hand, Doo Wop was not 90% Black as this would suggest, not even close.

Dion and the Belmonts would practice in the basements of the old 5 and 6 storey apartment buildings in daBronx. The acoustics from the unfinished brick walls and concrete foundations were as good as any music studio for getting their harmonies right.

My grandparents lived off the opposite end of Bronx Park, a couple of blocks north of Pelham Pkwy. Still a nice area.
