But, but, isn’t that where Robin Masters had his estate there? And where Thomas Magnum seemed to make a decent living as a PI?

Can’t make a living in Hawaii, Illinois is going bankrupt and the odds of getting shot in Chicago on a Saturday night is high.

Who do these have in common?

I went to the University of Northern Colorado, and there were always a lot of students from Hawaii. Maybe that's as far away from Hawaii as they could get, I don't know. They always started the school year with a big Hawaiian festival.

Because of that, I see cars with Hawaii license plates. I always wondered, do they ship the car from Hawaii, or buy a car here and register it in Hawaii. Sorry, I know that doesn't really have anything to do with the title of the thread.

Hawaii just fixed that with a guaranteed minimum income for everyone.

I learned, or at least was told, recently that pineapple is actually quite expensive in Hawaii because it has to be shipped to Cali for USDA inspection, then shipped back, before it can be sold.

Not so. You can buy a pineapple for 50 cents in the grocery store.

Hawaii, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle, New York - it seems the most liberal places are becoming the places with the highest cost of living and the highest income disparities.

Check out the last sentence of the article!

Meanwhile, Washington was named the best state to make a living, followed by Minnesota and Illinois.

casts suspicion on the whole article.

They can go further. I went to college with a Hawaiian classmate in Maryland--there are not many states further from Hawaii than that. ;)

Wait, not Connecticut? I’m surprised the Dems didn’t make it #1.

A cursory view of DTBH seems to show nice tourist areas surrounded by abject poverty and slums.
