Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 build 16226 for PC Insiders in the Fast ring, with some notable new changes and features included. Last weeks Insider Preview build included several new user interface changes and a bunch of new settings and features. Today's build continues that trend.
What's New?

I just figured there's some of y'all who are Insiders, and thus interested in the early builds.
If you don't know what the "Windows Insiders" program is, or don't know what "Fast Ring" means, you can ignore this thread.
I appreciate the info. Many thanks!
Not an insider, but I do like to see what MS is going to do next with Windows 10.
No, I don’t want new features. Leave it alone.
...or at least let me turn them on or off as I like.
Insider thanks. MS. Is really getting to be quite cool. And Edge is getting quite impressive.
I am absolutely, positively waiting for Windows 10 build 162267 or at least Windows 10 build 16226a or Windows 10 build 16225b2. Fool me once...
These are actually great improvements for those that understand their importance.
They may seem trite but they are not. They are quite smart.
Good job Microsoft! Now if we could just get the former Grand Dweeb out of his tax-evading feel-good ‘foundation’ onto the Trump Train creating real jobs for real Americans ...
A bit OT....
Using Chrome browser (IE/Edge is horrible), the dreaded “AdChoices” ads have really expanded their presence.
Any techies out there that can offer a solution to eliminate this intrusion?
I’ve used various adblockers but even they don’t seem to work anymore.
HELP!!!!
New user interfaces?
Unless one is CLASSIC that returns the XP/7 type frames, buttons, slidebars, etc., they can keep 10 and cram it.
If users are already comfortable with ‘other’ browsers, why should they migrate to Edge because MS is now making it more like ‘other’ browsers?
These 2 items prove that MS is driven by MS, not by customer preferences. So, again, they can take 10 and cram it.
Sadly, I don't believe that will happen. Microsoft is completely joined-at-the-hip to the Metro (Windows 8) look and feel. They cleaned up the "completely unusable" aspects a little in Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, but there's a lot of major "face-saving" going on, and it ain't going away anytime soon.
And since "Windows 10 is the last major-version of Windows" -- according to Microsoft, from now on it's just these never-ending incremental updates -- we're stuck with Metro more or less forever, or until they come out with something worse (never underestimate...).
Me, I've got enough copies of Windows 7 to last me the rest of my life. And I plan to live to at least 90. :-)
And when future programs come out that a) I've just GOTTA have, that b) won't run on Win7 and require Win10, well, that's what my Win10 VMs are for.
I need to start playing around with VMs.
Last fall I bought a Linux laptop to check out Linux. It is okay for basics — wordprocessing, spreadsheets, web surfing, email, etc. I find it cumbersome for installing news programs, etc. I tried the WINE feature which was supposed to make Win programs ‘run-able’. Every one I tried, failed.
I have thought about trying a VM on the Linux laptop, but I just haven’t taken the time to do so.
YES!!
> ... I tried the WINE feature which was supposed to make Win programs run-able. Every one I tried, failed.
WINE is a "best-effort" layer, and for what it does, fine... but it's never been enough for me to consider it worth my time to fight with its limitations.

Get a copy of VirtualBox, or VMware Workstation Player, etc.
I promise your (computing) life will improve.
For running Windows, there's an additional benefit to putting it in a VM: "Backup" consists of merely shutting down Windows and copying a single folder with a handful of files in it. Period. And it's a perfect image copy of the VM. I keep a few of them around in case I need to revert to an older copy.
One caution: the VM environment is addictive. If you have a curious streak, you'll end up like I did, making VMs of ancient things like Win98 or plain MS-DOS (both work), or obscure OSes no one has run in ages. Nearly anything that runes on x86 hardware should run in a VM on an x86 host. With one exception: You can only run MacOSX in a VM if the host hardware is Apple/Mac.
Last update removed Clear Type (sharpens text) or at least I can no longer locate it.
Internet search finds old location. Updating like this changes things too much at times.
uBlock Orgin is what I use in Firefox along with Adblock Plus.
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=en
In Adbock Plus you can add a custom filter for Taboola ads
https://help.getadblock.com/support/solutions/articles/6000149983-custom-filters-for-taboola-and-outbrain
Click the AdBlock button and select Options, then click the CUSTOMIZE tab.
Click Edit to open the custom filters box.
Paste the filter below exactly as given.
Click Save.
Reload the page you’re trying to view.
Copy this filter:
||taboola.com^
Thanks for the post.
I had been using uBlock Orgin but I was getting swamped with “AdChoice” garbage that was taking up much of the page “TVGuide/listings”
I deleted it and added “UBlock AdBlock Plus” that worked...for awhile.
I just now added uBlock Orgin . Again. It seems to be working.
I’ve never used custom filters but may give it a try.
Thanks, again!
Once you add this:
||taboola.com^
Those generally disgusting Taboola ads disappear.
