My brother in law died pretty young and I’ve almost been driven to drink in the past stepping in for his 2 kids, my nephew and niece. Turned out to be great kids but it was tough!!
I CANT IMAGINE how hard parenting is.

Your dad raised some fine, responsible sons/daughters. Surely, he must be proud. Your niece and nephew are fortunate individuals. In today’s environment, parenting would seem an insurmountable task.
Any special activity planned for the Dads in your house? Here we’ll be cooking BBQ ribs.
Going to check on cows then grilling steaks, with family, in the evening....all at hubby’s request ;-)

My father and my wife’s father are gone, so I am the father for now. I have a son and daughter. My son has a daughter who turns 1 on Tuesday.

I tell my sons that their present to me is to continue to raise their children into responsible, polite, and nurturing adults.
Besides, I only have 4 or 5 working ties and they are gathering dust.
