You are right about all your examples.

My hope is that Trump truly is different.

He appears to be. He has done many things no other Republican has had the stones to do, and in ways no one else in American political leadership has done (Twitter - although FDR’s fireside chats and Reagan’s TV talks were of the same ilk, using the technology of their respective times).

So I do hope this article is correct.

But we shall see.

...pardon (for huge payoffs) of criminal financier Marc Rich as Clinton was leaving the Presidency. This is how Comey began his career as a creature of the “swamp” years ago, as a servant of the Clintons.

Or perhaps his career started earlier than that...
Comey took over the FBI probe into the Rich pardon in 2003 and the case was closed in 2005 with no charges filed.

Comey first came in contact with the Clintons in the 1990s when he was investigating WhiteWater scandal.

It's actually a transcription of a screencap of this set of posts which has been making the rounds over the last couple of weeks. Only thing missing in it is pointing out the Clinton-Comey link goes back longer than Marc Rich, to when Comey was Deputy Special Counsel on the Whitewater investigation, i.e. covering that up too.

While I hope all this is to Trump’s favor I have to ask why this timeline ignores Comey’s tenure as Assistant AG under GWB? Also I seem to recall that he had the job Preeht Bahaharrraa (:)) had as AG in NY. So he had experience that may lead up to FBI but not good track record. He jailed Martha Stewart and attempted a coup against AG John Ashcroft against GWB’s directive. He has always been a weasle and tool of Schumer, buddies with Preeht what’s his name, and appears to be out for himself. I read that he was raised Catholic and left for United Methodist church. I would like to think his faith was sincere but rather than strong convictions he seems very pliable and you cannot trust double minded people. Maybe God will use this to really get his attention.
