Also, on the black flight issue, Duluth’s St. Louis County is as large as Massachusetts. When I lived there some time ago I could go weeks, perhaps months without seeing a single black person. Lots of Finns and Norwegians though.

My in-laws are from a little burgh on the U.P. of Michigan about 90 miles from Duluth. The area was all about iron mining, but the mines are pretty much tapped-out. You are either on a pension, on welfare, or you have moved someplace else. $8/hr. part-time jobs at Shopko are considered prime employment. Such people tend to fall for the Democrat line that "yer gittin' SCROOOOOOD by the EEEEEEEEEEVIL RICH!"
