Who can explain it? Maybe for some people the biological urges to breed are overwhelming. A man who did this would be put away for a long, long time.
I still blame Van Halen and their "Hot for Teacher" video for all of this, but that is just me ;-). Seriously, I wonder if their is some Nexus of: Hook Up Culture, Over-work via NCLB and all it's Metrics, Entitlement, Moral decline going back to Prayer out of School since 1962, and "other" problems given what men her age are watching on line, to name a number of things that make these young teachers think they can go down this road and get away with it. Now mind you back in the day, their were rumor of teachers crossing the lines and some became ugly fact after everyone got over the age of 18, so sadly this phenomenon is not new....
She may feel she has more control with students. To me, Pam Smart is the template for where this leads.

I think she needs to be barred from teaching. However, an adult female doing this with teenage boys is not the same thing as an adult male doing it with teenage girls. Just my 2 cents.
She is moderately pretty. From what I've seen of other instances, she probably wasn't going after the boys on the debate team, but rather the varsity athletes, perhaps fulfilling a fantasy from when she was in high school or college, and the football players had better options than her.
The woman is very attractive...must have some kind of unresolved emotional issue to be wasting her time with teenage boys. Yet, any adult man thinking of a relationship with this woman is looking for trouble. What a waste of a young life. Our popular culture (Ariana Grande et al) encourages this way of living. Why on Earth would anyone want to trade a stable married life (with all the safe sex one can handle) for this???
