According to a post in the social-justice blog Everyday Feminism, some aspects of modern veganism are “oppressive” and even “super trans-exclusionary.” In a piece titled “4 Ways Mainstream Animal Rights Movements Are Oppressive,” Mahealani Joy explains how problematic it is that “when mainstream vegan feminists talk about animal rights,” they are “super trans-exclusionary.”

I’ve been loving this homemade popcorn recipe. There’s more cleanup than bagged microwaved popcorn, but the taste is superior (I use Old Thompson’s Garlic Salt Grinder to season butter)

Cook’s Country Homemade Buttered Popcorn Recipe

To make stovetop popcorn that’s just as easy as the microwave kind, we start by heating three “test” kernels with vegetable oil in a saucepan until the kernels pop—that means the oil’s hot enough. We add the rest of the kernels off the burner, letting them heat up for 30 seconds to ensure even cooking. After that, it takes just a few minutes over medium-high heat with the lid slightly ajar for all the corn to pop. A few choice seasonings and you’re ready for movie night.

MAKES 14 CUPS

You don’t need to shake the pan as the corn pops.

INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon salt

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Heat oil and 3 kernels in large saucepan over medium-high heat until kernels pop. Remove pan from heat, add remaining kernels, cover, and let sit for 30 seconds.

2. Return pan to medium-high heat. Continue to cook with lid slightly ajar until popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops. Transfer popcorn to large bowl. Add melted butter and toss to coat popcorn. Add salt and toss to combine. Serve.

TEST KITCHEN TECHNIQUE: LEAVE LID AJAR

With our method, you don’t have to shake the pan steadily—or at all—while the corn pops. But do keep the lid slightly ajar so the steam, but not the popping kernels, can escape, guaranteeing crispy, light popcorn.

I am getting the point that the LEFT is in danger of running out of expressive adjectives. This danger is not sufficiently expressed by 'trans-exclusionary' but has to be raised to the ultimate by using 'super!' The Modern Language Association (MLA), a militantly LEFT academic polemical group, has much to answer for, especially in the failure to do their basic job of teaching rather than indoctrinating!

Tilapia are great fish if you know where to buy them. I get mine live from big tanks in the Asian markets here in Cleveland. They are grown in Erie Pa, and the growers must follow all US regulations. Very good steamed whole, head on. The cheeks are the best part! You go into the market and point out the fish you want in the tank. The gals catch them. whack them dead and gut and scale them for you, Steam them right away. Delicious, mild fish!

The left has a strategy here:
1. Train people to deny reality (belief in gender fluidity)
2. Tell unhappy people that they will be happy if they do extreme things like mutilate their bodies (transgenderism)
3. Divide people into ever-smaller, competing, alternative lifestyle groups.
4. Tell each alternative lifestyle group that it is special above all else but it is being oppressed by the “system” (capitalism, Christianity, America, the West in general).
5. Exhaust and demoralize normal society by having each militant alternative lifestyle group demand special recognition and separate “rights.”
6. Undermine the idea of rights under the law that are the same for every person. Now “rights” become favors competing, militant groups get through violence and corruption.
7. Each radical group is unhappy, no matter how many favors and “rights” it gets. The more they are given, the angrier they become.
8. Perpetually stir up the anger of each group and encourage mob violence and terrorism.
9. Overthrow society and set up a militant dictatorship.
10. The dictatorship will be strong because it is made up of competing “revolutionary” groups. The dictator will stay in power by pitting some groups against others and having “purges.”
