Is that the test which makes all the weird noises? I tried to find rhythmic patterns and toward the end of the t test, I even began to discern musical chords.
Never had a problem with them. Not a hint of claustrophobia or panic in my genes. I especially like the “rave music” sounds and usually have to be woken up. I’ve had over a dozen. I’ve also done monitored anesthesia for folks who suffered from what the OP describes. If it’s medically necessary, that option’s available in some hospitals. I’m surprised it’s not more widely available, but GPs and radiologists aren’t comfortable using amnestic agents much less a gas anesthetic like nitrous oxide. Ther’s a lot of risk there, I can’t blame them.
the day that I had my first MRI I had been to my bosses house who was putting in an in ground pool. With that fresh on my mind I got into that loud, obnoxious machine. The clanging and banging and purring and hissing began to get to me so I assigned each noise a tool and built my own pool in my head. It got me through.
By my third MRI I simply don’t open my eyes.
I think the noises are moving magnets.
