congrats! to you and to him!
Good for both of you!God Bless!
My son did the same many years ago after working as a new engineer for just 6 months. His boss told him there was no way he could buy a home that soon. He told his boss, “My dad showed me how to save and plan!. That was 9 years ago, and he is about to pay off the entire mortgage!
I am so proud of him, I am afraid a button may pop off my shirt and kill someone!
All the best to your family!!
This just proves that there are good, smart kids out there with a head on their shoulders.
My youngest did something similar at the ripe old age of 24. He owns a townhouse and has a roommate that helps with the mortgage. He plans on having it paid off in the next 5 years. He is then planning on renting it and doing it all over again.
Congrats!
Ha! Like that will ever happen! When my daughter was about 8, I was raking the leaves and she was watching me, but wandering out into the (quiet, I admit) street and making me worry. I told her several times to stay off the street. And it hit me:
No wonder people get to be 40 yo adults, and their parents still worry over them like they were little. By the time children grow up, they have long since proved to their parents beyond all doubt that they are never gonna grow up."

You have done well!
Inform your son about applying additional principal payments to his mortgage, especially at the beginning of the loan, reduces the length of the loan significantly.

you are right on that one. I have two wonderful step children that work so hard. My stepdaughter and her husband just moved here to be near my husband who is aging. The husband got a great job (i helped a little) and today they are looking to buy a house. I couldn’t be more proud and happy for them too.
Thank you, yes. Great strategy
He went through Dave Ramsey’s teen program in homeschool high school and it seems to have stuck.
