I believe the Democrat party's historical threshold of taking such actions runs along the lines of "the seriousness of the charge (or even headline) requires an investigation." Yet looking into the Seth Rich murder is being rather elaborately - if not "Byzantinely," if I may concoct a term - resisted by the entire Democrat/progressive/Soros matrix.

"Hmmm," I sez to myself. "We're gonna need a bigger microphone." Congressman Farenthold has suggested a way to get one.

FWIW, I did pause yesterday after I read about the two or three degrees of separation between someone peripherally in this brouhaha and James Alefantis, musing that nothing in The Swamp would surprise me at this point, be it some link between pedophila and Seth Rich's murder via party politics or about anything else. Yet some in the beltway still can't figure out why so many people voted for a guy who wasn't a politician or bureaucrat.

Re:”the seriousness of the charge (or even headline) requires an investigation.”

Translation: “the seriousness of the charge (or even headline) requires a lynching.”

Throughout history NO lynch mob has never required anything more than “the seriousness of the charge” before executing sentence.
