The left over liquid would have to be neutralized to a lower pH for disposal in the sewer system. Seems like the process would contribute to a lot of hazardous waste to the environment. I have decided to have my body donated to the local medical school.... make good use of my remains in training new doctors rather than just an expensive funeral
Not quite the same. Walt used hydrofluoric acid, which isn’t as effective as the show suggests. This method uses alkali and heat in a machine like a pressure cooker, I’ve heard of this with lye.

I inquired about this (in Massachusetts) and was told that, after my organs were used and the rest of my body was used for medical training, the leftovers would be returned to my relatives. So my plan to avoid funeral expenses was no good. Maybe the funeral directors made a deal with the politicians, I don’t know. Too bad.
