Not sure how many browsing threads you have it set to in your preferences. . It’s recommended they be set at 50.

I will take the slower speed.
Having real names displayed on FakeBook was a major alarm.
I prefer the catchy-handles on FR.

Is your Brevity (just to the left of the sidebar at the top of the articles) set to Headers? That will free up bandwidth and help speed your link up.

I think there is some weird issue with cookies.
When I clear my cache on my phones or computers the pages load lickety split.
And I could have opened only a few pages.
Seems most prevalent when I open pages off FR to any other news site.
Their persistent cookies are frickin annoying and more and more I am using TOR and Brave to eleminate the problem.

Check your tabs....close those youre not using. I second that emotion. I have gotten much faster results by doing that aggressively. That includes not allowing too much history to to accumulate in any one tab, too.

I experienced the exact problems you described and finally stopped using the Firefox browser. FR works fine in both Chrom and Internet Explorer. It might be worth a try for you. Good luck.

Not a chance. I have a screaming fast gaming rig connected to a cable modem. Just about every web site I load is instant.

I concur. Page loads often stall and can take tens of seconds to finally finish. Again FR is the only site I experience this on.
After the recent outage it's pretty clear that it's time to move FR to a more reliable and scalable platform. I'm sure the site's popularity is a factor both in the slow response as well as the "wear and tear" on the server. It would be good to hear from the "powers that be" what the plans are to address both of these issues.
I already send FR more than any other subscription web site I patronize, but I'm willing to pitch in a bit more $$ if we can fix these problems for good.

Was suggested to me years ago to edit my account to limit responses on open thread and articles on search.
I have set both to 20- which has sped up FR considerably
