Military tensions on Syrias borders with Iraq, Jordan and Syria jumped another notch Monday, May 21, on Day 2 of Donald Trumps foreign trip, with the arrival of the first Russian ground troops in southern Syria for taking up position opposite US and coalition elite units ...
Saturday, as debkafile reported, the Syrian-pro-Iranian-Hizballah force in southern Syria renewed its advance on the Iraqi border, two days after sustaining heavy casualties from a US air strike on its convoys. Syrian military sources reported the captured the Suweida region and another 60 square kilometers. This brought them closer to the strategic Al-Tanf crossing at the Syrian border intersection with Iraq and Jordan, which is held by US and other special operations units.
The arrival Sunday of Russian ground troops to this hotly-contested region offers an acid test for Donald Trumps assurance to the Saudi royals and Gulf Arab rulers of his administrations resolve to rein in Irans military charge through the Middle East, along with Hizballah, and relegate to the past their depredations in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

As long as the Russians don’t come in contact with the million Chinese troops that Debka reported marching into Afghanistan a few years back.
Really, as long as Debka is reporting it, there’s nothing to worry about.
There are Russian flags raised over some newly captured areas in Suwaida; this is the same region. Are the flags false, or Russian infantry or maybe elite paratroopers or other? Seems likely there are troops on the ground there. It is very likely Syria/Russia do not want SA/USA incursions going into SE Syria.
FYI: many of the stories Debka reports first are picked up by other news outlets and verified. Some Debka stories are disinformation and the like. Just because you don’t read or see it on the Nightly News doesn’t mean its not happening. Debka is wrong just about as many timers as any other news outlet.
No, they appear to almost always make up their stories. Occasionally, they do guess right on a broad point. But even there, they’ve usually embellished the details.
Sure ...
Debka = BS.
