A New Jersey high school student who hopes to become a funeral director has surprised her classmates by arriving at her prom in an open prop coffin .
Megan Flaherty says she mainly wanted to have fun while attending Pennsauken High School's junior prom Saturday. The 17-year-old says she checked with her date to make sure he had no reservations about her plans.

Very pretty, but not quite “drop-dead-gorgeous”. Very interesting and unique idea, though. I snicker a bit at the likely reactions of her peers.

May God bless her. It’s a good reminder to her fellow students that we are just visitors here, and that poor choices in life will get you here when you still look as young and pretty as she.
I have a dear friend who is a funeral director. (There are good ones out there - BUT, you have to plan ahead and just call from the first newspaper ad you see.) Don has a heart of gold and deals with people (who have often carried hateful and unresolved issues for half a century or more) at the lowest point in their lives. Bratty kids and relatives fighting over sh!t should be forcibly invited to join Grandma in the coffin.
BTW, "Drop Dead Gorgeous" is a play on words; no need to hate on the child.
There are a lot of ‘rent-a-hearse’ companies that provide services for things like this. The drivers usually look like that.
