I have been going to the Boston since the 40s (few runners in those days)-—and a daughter,son,and granddaughter have run and qualified.
(My running career consisted of running to catch a bus in 1955.):-)

Going to that linked site, the runners are running behind a pace car with a raised part showing elapsed time. If they run behind that pace car it will be an unfair advantage as they will be running in its slipstream. Any sub-two-minute result should therefore not be considered a record or at least should be shown with an asterisk disclosing the drafting, IMHO.
