According to the organizers of the National Day of Reason, the National Day of Prayer, violates the First Amendment of The United States Constitution because it asks federal, state and local government entities to set aside tax dollar supported time and space to engage in religious ceremonies.
The National Day of Reason was created in 2003 by the American Humanist Association and the Washington Area Secular Humanists. For more information visit nationaldayofreason.org.

May the fourth be with you...
“violates the First Amendment of The United States Constitution”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They need to read the First Amendentment before they (wrongly) try to apply it.
Haha...the Day of Reason is on Cinco de Mayo??? You’ve got to be kidding!
Can’t think of anything more reasonable than praying for the Republic.
Especially in this day and age.
Cinco de Mayonnaise?.................
Someone wrote about so-called humanist and atheist organizations a long time ago. “Then they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us” and to the hills “Cover us” (Luke 23;30) when the Lord appears in the sky.
OOPS! It should have read May 4th...
May 5 is also Children’s Day in Japan. Perhaps that is not a coincidence.
National Day of Prayer IS a National Day of Reason. Sorry atheists don’t think so, but they’ll get over it. When they are forced to bow to the King of Kings...
They already have a “we hate religion” holiday. It’s called “Festivus”, and it is soulless and empty, colorless and depressed. It offers instead anger and bitterness.
May 5th is Cinco de Drinko Day in Waco, Texas...according to a thread a day or two ago.
