Did they say “Hold on while I adjust my headset.”? That’s my favorite robocall.
Do you have the email addresses in your contacts? They shouldn’t be sent to the junk mail folder if you’ve entered them as contacts in your address book.
Well all the first emails went to SPAM.
Before I added them.
BTW:
These people had my email, home address, phone number.
It was really incredible.
We will see what happens they said they are going to resend the donation card.
35$ gets you on the “Presidential Advisory Board”.
That’s what they said on the phone and in the snail mail literature.
Nomorobo.com. Works like a charm.
Did they say Hold on while I adjust my headset.? Thats my favorite robocall.
Usually for us it’s ‘Can you hear me OK?
Most recently it’s “I’m Brooke.....” Telling me my auto warranty is expiring, a warranty I haven’t had for quite some time. At least once a week I answer NF Way!!!
Then a few minutes later it’s the Florida call saying that my back brace I inquired about online (total BS) is available with no charge thru Medicare. Or it’s diabetic supplies, or .......
Yesterday it was Neilsen ratings in Spanish and a live young man on the other end. My curt response was SPEAK ENGLISH DAMMIT and then I hung up. It’s Corpus Christi not Nuevo Laredo you hounds.
Robocalls all are from fake numbers.
Not so incredible, because your info (and mine) is sold regularly by businesses, or sites that we sign up to receive newsletters, etc. I get points by completing surveys through e-Rewards, and e-Miles for Minutes. Not long ago, I clicked on a link e-Rewards offered. It might have been for Publisher's Clearing House. Turns out it wasn't even a survey. I got part-way through the question pages, saw where it was going, and closed the page out. Even without submitting anything, I started getting all these emails from various businesses, along with phone calls about medical devices, etc. What a pain in the ass that was. I finally got it all to stop by unsubscribing from the emails sent me, and blocking the phone numbers calling. I learned a valuable lesson from that brief experience.
You sure it wasn't a Black Spot Card:
The Black Spot is a literary device invented by Robert Louis Stevenson for his novel Treasure Island. In the book, pirates are presented with a "black spot" to officially pronounce a verdict of guilt or judgment.
When you say block the number, do you mean label them as spam in your phone?
I know there are apps that give you some extra blocking options.
I use android, I wish I had better blocking abilities.
I don’t know anything about Android phones...sorry. I have an iPhone, so can simply click on the “info logo” next to the number, then scroll down the page that opens up, and click on the option to “block this caller.” And since I have Verizon Wireless, I can also go to my account online, and put the number in I want blocked. It’s easier to just do it on the cell phone though. At home I have a digital landline phone with Time Warner/Spectrum. To block calls on that I can go to my Time Warner/Spectrum account online, and in the section to block calls, I can enter the number I want blocked. Time Warner/Spectrum allows you to block up to 30 calls at a time.
Thanks for the tip.
On Android it was similar to the Apple.
I just had to click on the ... on the top of the call detail page.
This allowed me to block numbers.
Even better because I had saved all of these numbers as SPAM, it blocked about 20 numbers in that contact listing, all at once.
Thanks !
“...Who cares? Youd give to the RNC?...”
Well I hear what you are saying, but this past year the thought of President Hilary Clinton was enough to make me donate to the RNC.
Hard to believe, but true.
She HAD TO BE BEATEN.
I was give now, or she will take it from me and my children later anyways.
Great!! Glad to be of help. To tell you the truth, my oldest son showed me how to do the blocks on my iPhone the last time he was here. He’s the one with the brains in the family.
I have a home phone number through magic jack hooked up in our office. We don’t answer it and it goes straight to voice mail. I use that number for everything except doctors appts, friends, etc. I never put my cell number in on anything. I still get 1-2 spam calls a day on my cell.
RNC is a scam...always has been.
