There are more than 200 members of the violent, El Salvadorian MS-13 gang in the Long Island, New York area, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI’s Long Island Gang Task Force Director Geraldine Hart told NBC New York in an interview that members of MS-13 “bolster their ranking among other gangs by using violence.”
Hart told the media that the MS-13 gang problem, specifically as its members are usually illegal immigrants, is a national issue across the U.S.
“This is not a local problem,” Hart told NBC New York. “This is a national and international problem. We know that there are direct links from El Salvador up here into the New York area.”
The area of Brentwood, Long Island, more precisely, has undergone a transformation due to the MS-13 gang and its roots in illegal immigration.
As the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) notes, MS-13 flourished in Brentwood as placement of unaccompanied minor illegal immigrant children grew more than 100 percent from 2015 to 2016.

I think you’re absolutely right about that.
The G-m FBI is responsible for them being there.
They and the Intelligence agencies have been given the world’s most sophisticated and expensive surveillance systems and what do they do with them?
Waste time snooping on Presidential candidates.
They have allowed a massive invasion and political takeover of the Southwest that is unprecedented in American history. A crime wave of epic proportions: and they sat on their thumbs and let it go down. Much more fun to play power politics with the Rat party.
That a low life gang of jungele thugs like Mara Salvatrucha could get into and cause trouble in the United States is testimony to the waste of billions that those agencies have gotten and willfully misused.
Long Island is a big place——there have always been affordable towns.

Which is why the massive pushback from EVERYBODY regarding building a Wall, You Can NOT have a War on Drugs without Drugs and 1/3 to 1/2 of ALL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES Nationwide are employed directly as a result of this War on Drugs.
We need the WAR ON DRUGS more than you will ever believe and we will do whatever it takes to Guarantee the free flow of Drugs across the Mexican Border to make sure our Government Employee Union Members have Jobs.

There is a huge heroin problem in the more affluent towns on LI as the kids have graduated up the drug scale while costs have dropped. Doesn’t help when the parents focus on sports and lifestyle and less on behavior.
These creeps are embedded in the poorer towns like Brentwood and New Castle because the county police forces don’t get the cooperation from the local immigrants out of fear and ignorance.
It’ll require a full sweep to get rid of them but there is zero political will given the very huge service oriented economy of LI (landscaping, contracting, food servicing).
LI is being overrun.
I lived in Brentwood for a couple of years in the late 1950’s.
It was deteriorating even then.
There are plenty of affordable communities on Long Island but the property taxes are just awful. I doubt, however, that they pay taxes.
So round them up and deport them! How difficult is that? After the first dozen, they’ll get smart and leave.
The headline sounds so genteel.
It’s not just MS-13 but hordes of illegals have infected Long Island with crime and all kinds of quality of life problems. Even way out at the end of the island at Greenport,NY which used to be a nice charming American small town.
