Side point, but I have many fond memories of Carrick. At one time it was a sold German-descent, working-class community. I spent many an evening at a private bar there, the (German) Literary Club.
Today’s Carrick - from what I’m told - is not the same Carrick that I remember from years ago.
Carrick was a nice middle-class neighborhood when I was a kid three decades ago. (though it was the place you went cruising to meet girls who were a little on the sleazy side)
Now the best thing you can say for Carrick is that at least it’s not Mount Oliver.
I walked around German Village in Columbus, Ohio for the first time about two months ago (beyond the requisite trip to Schmidt’s on my way out of town). Those kraut immigrants were squared away.
