Tom Brady says he will NOT join his New England Patriots teammates at the White House on Wednesday ... citing "personal family matters."
Brady just issued a statement, saying, "In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend today's ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters."
He explained, "I am so happy and excited that our team is being honored at the White House today. Our team has accomplished something very special that we are all proud of and will be for years to come. Thank you to the president for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember."

The media is trying to make this something it is not. Gosh, remember when the media just reported the news and weren’t non-stop anti-Trump political activists.

The media/left puts huge pressure on anyone who disagrees with them...Unfortunately many people aren’t brave enough to stand up to it.
The ceremony is pretty lacking without him being there considering the role he played in winning the Super Bowl.
Its a sad state of affairs.

Perhaps that's the reason, but some stories back before election day indicated that the supermodel at home did not want to be considered a Trump supporter. That might also be a reason.

You have no place in making that kind of statement. He also missed the first day of workouts with the team, yesterday, something he nevers does. His mom has cancer and based on how she looked at the SB, she is not doing well.

Either way, for anybody to even think what you have to say about Tom Brady’s personal life is worth anything, would be foolish. You’re a nobody who is making a statement without any knowledge of his situation; and I just watched the ceremony and it went off better than I have ever seen.

He also didn't attend in 2015, also citing family commitments as the reason. I think he just doesn't like the politics of these visits... no matter who the president is.
His mom is currently visiting him... she traveled all the way from California to visit the family... it's not like he had to suddenly rush out to California to be by her side.
