Don't know why, but this has been on my mind today.
Thought I would share it
Robert Duval singing "If You'll Hold The Ladder (I'll Climb To The Top)

another great song from a Robert Duval movie (Open Range)
Holding all my Love for You Ju;ianna Raye
It's grainy but so is life.
Thx for that. Loved Open Range. And loved that song.
Love you guys. Hope you had a wonderful Easter.
A Joyous Easter here; and you?
This song has always been a favorite. Just a young tyke when first heard (sung by Ferlin Husky) At that time Rock n Roll= Elvis was coming on stronger than Country, but this song really tucked into memory.
“On the Wings of a Dove”

A big hit in the closing weeks of 1960.
:-) not quite Sweet Sixteen at the time, but still a fan of the ‘dreadful’ RnR coming down the pike. First 45 ever purchased was Johnny Cash (Ring of Fire) Elvis was collected on LP’s. American Bandstand was on every afternoon. Husky’s tune was heard on radio often.
Cash in on this sound:
Ring of Fire Smoke--Ben Colder (1963)
:-)
This one must have been heard at some point. Honestly, don’t remember. Do remember Sheb’s recording of “The Purple People Eater” My younger brother sang that song incessantly.
