I’ve found credit and debit cards people left at post offices and gas stations and called the issuers to let them know.

Every time I am told to destroy them and my honesty is appreciated. I’d like to hope that if roles were reversed, a stranger would do the same.

Me too. My phone has a folder entitled, "If found call... (my wife's number)". A lot of people would actually call if they found it, at least it's worth a shot.
