Like most people, you probably signed up for Amazon Prime for one reason. Maybe it was the free shipping. Maybe it was the streaming videos or the free music. Maybe you wanted one special bargain and decided to jump onboard.

But even now, several years after Amazon Prime was founded, few people know the full breadth of their membership perks. They've heard rumors of different benefits, and they've always thought about rereading the full list, but then they forget.

Well, we've put together the master list of every major thing you can do with your Amazon Prime account. Granted, some of these cost extra and others aren't available in certain locales, but most of these deals and extras can be claimed right this moment.

An exhaustive list of Amazon Prime membership benefits most people don't even know about. The most famous are two-day free shipping and Prime Video streaming service. But there are lots more! Well worth the $10.99 per month charge when buying on Amazon. Or $99 a year.

Or $99 a year.

I have it, find myself buying more at AMZ and less at local stores. Convenience factor is great, especially for gifts sent across the country, but I want my local stores to stay in biz too. Actually shed tears when Hastings went out of business a few months ago. But make a point of buying a full-retail book monthly at my small old-line bookstore that only sells --- wait for it ---BOOKS!

I don’t buy much from Amazon; I’ll get something maybe once or twice a year, but I did buy something a couple of months ago.

I got it, went on my merry way, paid my CC bill at the end of the month.

Next month, I was checking my CC bill, and there was a charge for Amazon prime. I never signed up for it, but there it was.

I contacted Amazon and challenged the charge and they backed it off without a hassle.

I just wonder how many other phantom sign-ups Amazon has engineered.

They have top notch customer service!

I order a cat health supplement and Amazon shipped me a dog collar!

I was upset and contacted their customer service - and they comped me it at no charge by shipping the order they should have shipped to me the first time around.

A company that cares about its customers gave me a reason to stay with them.

They make good on it when a goof-up is on their end.

Happy Amazon customer here.

I used Amazon Prime's 2-day shipping on a laptop. They used their internal shipper Amazon Logistics, which "lost" my laptop between the local hub and my home.

Most of that stuff is useless to me.

Pantry is very good. Prime music is good. Prime video is pretty limited.

The two day delivery isn’t always true. It has to be a prime listed product and during holidays they may tell you it will take longer.

It’s worth it for the most part.

I bought a radio for the boat but I had to send it back for some reason. I called Amazon they texted one of those scan things, took it to my ups store where they scanned it . The scanning produced an instant refund as well as shipping label which was paid to return it. 😃

I know they are a bunch of libtards, but you have to hand it to them; buying on Amazon save me more time and money than I can count. For anything other than ordinary food and clothing items, it is the first place I look.

I have spent many of hundreds of bucks with Amazon, and I never have received anything out of the blue like that. Also, many times the products that I order are at the best prices.

The $99 is worth it just for christmas. I stream movies all the time. Heck I ordered WEIGHTS, and got them cheaper than a store, in 2 days, no shipping.

You can do that right on the site, get your barcode for free return ship and refund. Then you can just take it to any mailbox store of any kind.

I don’t like Bezos and his politics and influence but Amazon makes my life EXPONENTIALLY easier. Not quitting. Use it at least weekly. And watch prime etc.

I love Amazon prime. I have several chronic illnesses, and get a lot of supplements on there, and other things at great prices.. I bought corrective glasses on there that block harmful light from my computer...love them, help so much... I don’t get out much at all, so it is a godsend to me. I’ve only returned two skin care products that were awful. I printed a label for a free return,my husband took it to the ups store, and the minute it was scanned I was credited right then.I did not know about all of the other benefits. Thanks for posting.

Don’t forget that Amazon is not just a place to buy stuff.

It is also a marketplace where you can operate a business. You can be a seller, an author, a filmmaker, a musician, etc. And Amazon can help bring you customers (for a slice of the pie, of course).

Additionally, Amazon offers very high end hosting and cloud services at reasonable rates.

I’m not happy with some of the politics and other decisions of the Amazon boardroom, but they are top notch at continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Real innovators.

This is one ‘benefit’ I have no need for, as I stopped my home delivery of the Washington Commie-Post about 20 years ago:

18. Washington Post Free Trial

It’s ironic: Quality newspapers may be endangered, but their subscriptions can still be pricey. This is just one reason you may enjoy a six-month free trial to the Washington Post, courtesy of Amazon Prime. This is a limited time offer, though, so grab those free digital headlines while you still ca
