if we wish to be a nation of laws rather than a tyranny, then we most certainly should have a declaration of war from congress before going to war.

even dropping one little bomb

ORI’s went well into the 70’s. I was at Plattsburgh AFB for AF ROTC boot camp in 1977 when an ORI hit. A KC-135 arrived unannounced from Offutt. Several hats with “farts and darts” were on board. How fast can the FB-111’s and KC-135’s get off the ground starting NOW?

Readiness Inspections were well intact into the 80’s.

I was a TAC team assigned to mobile FACP. That is Forward Air Control Post.

We had a TPS-43E that required instant mobility. Had all the trappings of an Air to Air theatre and incoming at very long range.

You are talking nonsense. Obviously you have no understanding of the declarations that have been approved to date. Aside from your complete lack of understanding of the historical conditions and Congressional approvals leading up to this action you are wrong in principle as well. No president is limited from protecting the nation. The fact that we have had a president for 8 years who refused to act responsibly is not a viable precedent for the current president.

kinda hilarious that the so called history buffs didn’t fathom that my original comment had a deeper meaning than they could possibly grasp.

Especially amusing are the ones getting their panties all wound up in technical arcania down in the weeds, missing the big issue staring themselves in the face.

LOL

Was there a deeper meaning in your post?

All I got out of it was that, you think the President should seek a declaration of war from Congress, before committing any agressive military moves against North Korea.

I was actually laughing at the thought that Congress could even find its own ass with both hands, let alone, move swiftly enough to do what needs to be done in this situation.

Are you 12? Do you believe in Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny? Do you even know what “imperial presidency” means?

Why do you need a declaration of war for a war that never ended?

You're correct we've been under a cease fire agreement for the last 60 + years

We rightfully despised Obama for his imperial edicts. ‘ I have a pen and a phone ‘

Be aware that Trump ignoring Congress and rule of law only concentrates more power in the Executive Branch. In 8 years there is very likely going to be another Dem in WH.

Do you really want someone like Hillary having even more unilateral power ?

Our founders created the system of checks and balances to prevent a tyrannical president.

Think long term
