I have said all along that it was the cops who beat the guy up and dragged him off the plane. United did not do it.

It was actually a Republic airlines plane. And one of the reasons for calling the cops in the first place is to avoid liability.

They’re unarmed and have a chip on their shoulder.

United created the scenario and are ultimately responsible for the events they set into motion. A United employee called the thugs and had them board the plane. The thugs didn't do it on their own.

Don't make excuses for Untied.
