Homeland Security has suspended its new weekly sanctuary city report, with officials saying they need to refine their methodology for figuring out who ends up on the name-and-shame list.
The list was ordered by President Trump, who in one of his early executive orders said it would give communities a chance to see whether their local police and sheriffs departments were cooperating with federal agents to remove dangerous illegal immigrants.
But the three-week-old list, officially known as the Declined Detainer Outcome Report and maintained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has become controversial as some communities strenuously object to being considered sanctuaries. Meanwhile some residents have been surprised to see their own jurisdictions not on the list.
ICE remains committed to publishing the most accurate information available regarding declined detainers across the country and continues to analyze and refine its reporting methodologies. While this analysis is ongoing, the publication of the Declined Detainer Outcome Report (DDOR) will be temporarily suspended, said agency spokeswoman Sarah Rodriguez.
The DDOR has already sparked important conversations between ICE and law enforcement agencies across the nation, and the revised report will add to this discussion, Ms. Rodriguez said.
The latest list, released Wednesday, showed 142 jurisdictions that ICE determined had a policy that in some way thwarted cooperation. A week earlier, the list had 150 jurisdictions.

Why?
Did somebody file a lawsuit?
weak
What’s to refine? If the mayor, city council or sheriff makes a public statement, then it’s official. Put them on the list and yank their funding. Simple.
If the mayor, city council or sheriff makes a public statement
Most of these talk out of both sides of their mouth. They go to opposing groups and tell each group what it wants to hear. What is their real policy that is enforced?
Usually the policy is enforced inconsistently, capriciously and corruptly. How much money did the illegal donate? How many votes did the illegal deliver? And most importantly, who is the illegal alligned with?
That is certainly the experience in illegal friendly Illinois. Illegal immigrants is no different than illegal violations of building code or zoning ordinance. The goal is not to bring people into compliance. The goal is to use the illegality as leverage to get bribes (uuhh excuse me ... donations).
What is it the fascist “democrats” are always saying, “Americans have the right to know”?
Ask the mayors to fill out a form and tell them it will be released to the media with a copy sent to their state governor’s office:
One Question—”Is your city a sanctuary city?”
Keep it simple.
I always thought the FBI WAS homeland security. till 9-11 I agree too many agencies
