>>“My son was out doing something wrong … I don’t condone his actions, but he didn’t deserve to die,” she said Monday, while crying. “If you decide to rob someone, then you face a judge.”

He did and he is. I suspect he shall be found wanting.

He was planning to go college and wanted to become a prof football player. He was just turning his life around, and only acted out of desperation. He was a father and possibly suffering from mental illness. He needed care from an unfeeling society, not a bullet. He was not a thug, he just needed a hug. /sarc

“Now Hairston said she wants justice for her son, whose final act was one of ‘desperation.’”

And the people that were being robbed at gunpoint were not desperate to stay alive?

He did.

And he lost.

He was more than willing to shoot someone himself.

What goes around comes around and he made a stupid choice and paid the highest price.

Did he deserve to die?

Not for robbery but for pulling a gun on someone else.

Too bad for him.

Go ahead and fire him. Then do a Go Fund Me campaign for the worker. Once the fund hits 2x his yearly salary give the leftover money to the next stand your ground type. 2 year vacation.

Probably supplementing his salary from the cash register.

That's probably how he got his Air Jordans.

“a motivational speech or tough love?”

No, he needed 28 prior years of parenting.

This is all probably BS to set up a civil suit with a “friendly” jury.

Point a gun at an armed person and expect to get shot.

That's probably how he got his Air Jordans.

And his tattoos.

You know, priorities.

Air Jordans cost more than some guns.
Maybe he should not have been wasting money on expensive shoes.

[A robbery suspect sued after an officer’s kick broke his jaw. Does the lawsuit have merit?] ...NO!

This man is the father of one child and one unborn child...."he had" is the description of his first born...who has that child. Where is the responsibility of these adults; why do they continue to breed when they can't afford to feed etc. what they have...it seems to be a disease of the impoverished as well as the irresponsible.

Remember the old days when if you went to court the judge would give you two choices, one was go to jail, and the other was the gentlemen in the back of the room escorting you to Marine Corps recruit training. Whatever happened to that?

This kind of thinking was sanctioned by obama... they got a wrong idea of justice and the law. They expected the doors to be opened for them and the government would fill their pockets.. The first black President and he is a corrupt individual. They wouldn’t choose a man like Clarence Thomas.. so what does that say about the majority ... it’s a shame too! The public voted this man in... racism can’t be brought into the picture on his election... but he failed miserably.. he failed everyone!

Hmm, let’s see.. Sell the Air Jordans, sell the handgun that you might use to rob someone, stop spending money on crap you can’t afford, get out there and hit the bricks and find a job - these are rational choices.

I’m sorry your child decided to cause another woman’s child to kill them. There should be justice for the other woman’s child to have to face all this agony, how about we start with your attorney’s house? That’d be some just compensation.
